Read about this patrons legacy to the library and a chance to win this amazing quilt
Saturday, October 29 • 10am - 5pm • Carman Community Room
One woman, 2 years, 41 quilts, 31 charities.
Experience the craftsmanship and legacy of Ann Alger. The library will be hosting a free one day show of 41 quilts created by Ann before they are distributed to local community organizations.
In the Spring of 2009, Ann was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She began the Quilts4Charity Project, and dedicated her remaining time to creating quilts to be “gifted” to 31 designated nonprofit charities for future fundraising. She created 41 pieces for the quilt collection, and despite a painful wrist injury, finished her final quilt just weeks before her death on April 19, 2011. Ann’s collection is an expression of her commitment to the CNY community. In addition to the show, there will be an opportunity to drop off donations of non-perishable items for the Humane Association of CNY in honor Ann’s other passion, a love for animals.
